Wargame in a Box
Accompanying Notes
A little project that turned into quite a big project. Having painted up a few of Vanguard Miniatures excellent 3mm range, I thought I might as well get the most out of their portability! I drew up a plan in my favourite vector graphics package and cut it on a cheap Chinese laser cutter. The structure is mostly built from 3mm birch ply and 6mm poplar ply. Excitingly, the laser cutter also does foam and felt with ease. It all took much longer than anticipated, but I’m happy with the result. The playing area is 30cm square, so it fits on almost any coffee table. I’m not done with travel boxes yet, and version 2.0 features a 60cm square playing surface for big battles…
