Its essential game role is to provide targeting data for the army’s indirect fire weapons, such as artillery with the Barrage trait. Crucially, the Pathfinder’s Auger Array rule negates the usual penalty to hit rolls for Barrage weapons targeting units outside of their own line of sight.
