Salamander Scout

The Salamander Scout Tank is a fast, lightly armoured vehicle that can be used to deny the enemy territory or guard more valuable units from enemy assault.

Leman Russ Demolisher

The Leman Russ Demolisher excels at destroying infantry and armour in cover. It is medium ranged, with tough armour, and its secondary weaponry is almost as powerful as its main gun, though slow firing.

Griffon

The Imperial Guard Griffon is a relatively short ranged mobile artillery gun. Its Heavy Mortar lobs shells in a high arc, enabling the vehicle to fire from behind cover.

Earthshaker Platform

The Imperial Guard Earthshaker Platform is a stationary artillery gun with an extremely long range. It lobs shells in a high arc, and does not need line of sight to its target.

Basilisk

The Basilisk is a mainstay of many Imperial Guard armies. It can pound enemy lines from afar, and its Earthshaker gun will make short work of destroying infantry or armoured vehicles.

Thudd Gun

Thudd Guns (aka Light Artillery) are quad barrelled artillery weapons that are useful for pounding enemy positions from behind cover.

Infantry

Imperial Guard infantry and their cousins across other Imperial factions are cheap and numerous. Their combined small arms fire makes them excellent in a firefight, but they should not attempt to fight in close combat.

Commissar

Imperial Guard Commissars are responsible for enforcing discipline, and they will stop at nothing to acheive this. Deserters will be shot.

Devastation Class Cruiser

Devastation Class Cruisers are excellent for deploying Chaos units via planetfall. They also have Orbital Bombardment that will destroy large numbers of weaker units, and a Pin-point Attack for obliterating War Engines.

Hell Talon

Chaos Hell Talons are fast Fighter Bombers with good all-round capability. Its payload can be delivered anywhere it is required, though the Chaos player should be wary of enemy anti-air units.
